The Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee has 

  • To centralise and exchange scientific information relating to umbilical cord stem cells and adult stem cells, including IPS.
  • To inform the leaders of « Cordons de Vie » on scientific aspects of projects submitted with a view to obtaining finance.
  • To enable active and pertinent communication concerning the objectives of the Association. 

The scientific committee consists of the following individuals:

Professor Eliane GLUCKMAN :President of the Scientific Committee

Professor of Haematology at the University of Paris (Diderot)

Former Head of the Department of Haematology at the Hôpital Saint Louis.

World pioneer in the transplant of umbilical cord stem cells in 1988.

 


 Doctor Christophe ROBINO : Co-ordinator of the Scientific Committee 

Head of the Service of Nephrology and Dialysis of the Princesse Grace Hospital, Monaco. Former intern and Clinical Head of the Paris Hospitals. Member of the Diocesan Bioethical Committee of Monaco. Member of the Conseil National (Monégasque Parliament).

 


Doctor Henri BLÉHAUT :

Director of Research (pharmaceutical industry then Jérôme Lejeune Institute and Foundation). Lecturer at the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris and the University of Évry-Val-d'Essonne. Professor of bioethics (Collège des Bernardins in Paris and IPLH). 


Doctor Hélène CARSENTI:

Doctor in Pharmacy. Former intern of the Paris Hospitals.

 

Head of the Laboratory Anti biology and research at the Service of infectious diseases, Nice. Expert to the European Commission. 



Doctor Bernard FLIPO:

Head of gynaecological, mammary and general oncological surgery;

Head of the surgical/anaesthetic department of the Centre Antoine Lacassagne, Nice. Expert to the courts. 


Didi JASMIN

Executive Director of the European School of Haematology within the Institute for research into leukaemia and blood disorders – Centre HAYEM, Hôpital Saint Louis.


Doctor Danielle LENA :

Doctor in Pharmacy. Former intern of the Marseille Hospitals. Former Director of CERGM (Centre d’Enseignement et de Recherche en Génétique Médicale – Teaching and Research Centre for Medical Genetics), Faculty of Medicine, Marseille. 



Doctor Hubert PERRIN

Surgeon, former intern and Head of Clinic at the Paris Hospitals. DEA, oncological surgery. Assistant Head of Department at the Princess Grace Hospital, Monaco.  Department of Visceral and digestive surgery.
